We are so excited for this year’s Community Superhero Saturday: next Saturday, April 27th 11am-3pm!
We can’t wait to feed baby goats and pet horses, bounce in bounce houses, make potted plants and send messages home with pigeons! We can’t wait to meet and learn about some of the amazing superheroes in our community—including a park ranger from the Maritime Museum, a beekeeper from Planet Bee, police officers from our Taraval Police station and children’s librarians from the Merced Branch Library and more! We can’t wait to play super fun carnival games, make giant bubbles and superhero capes, get our faces painted and eat BBQ and Cotton Candy!
Our kids are excited too! They’ve been working hard—being kind and helpful to others to earn Community Superhero Bucks, which they can spend as cash at Superhero Saturday!
Please consider signing up to volunteer to make this event a success! We still need volunteers to help set up, monitor the bounce houses, help with ticket sales and prizes, serving food, running games and activities, and more!
AND it’s still not too late to sign up to lead a game for your child’s room. We have several really great games (Check out PLINKO and the Captain Hook Ring Toss) that are already made! No need to worry about fully staffing your game, since we will have high school volunteers on hand to help run the games that don’t have enough parents signed up.
If you’d like to lead a game, email us to let us know at SHS@LakeshoreElementary.org
Thank you to rooms M3, M1, M15, 2, 5, 15, 1, 10, and 8 for already taking a game or activity! And thank you to Ms. Streeter, Ms. Angela, and Ms. Jordan for signing up to lead the cotton candy machine!
Can’t wait to see you all next Saturday!
