Hard to believe that the first day of school is around the corner!
Assignment letters went out and should arrive this week. Assignments will also be posted at school by Friday at the latest.
Incoming families are invited to New Family Orientation this Thursday, August 11 from 6-7:30pm. Kinder teachers will meet with new students and parents. Families of students in older grades will be offered a tour. Kinder parents, remember to bring and turn in your After School Arrangements and Questionnaire and Readiness Survey.
On Friday, August 12, let’s make the fabulous staff feel welcome at the Staff Appreciation Luncheon. We have a great spread promised so far but could always use more donations of food. Until 11am, drop off dishes marked “STAFF LUNCH” in the staff lounge (to the left of the main doors). Label anything you need returned to you with your name and email or phone number. We’re also in need of help setting up at 10:30 and cleaning up at 1pm. Questions? Contact Jill Nachtman at 563-209-7500.
Then on Saturday, August 13 from 11am-2pm, it’s the final Lakeshore summer playdate. It will be held at Lakeshore on the K yard. All grades and both new and returning families are invited to play and mingle! Come check out the fancy new windows. 🙂 If you can, please bring a snack to share.
Last but not least, on Monday, August 15, stop by for First Day Coffee and baked goods. See the kids off to their first day of school then join other parents for celebratory coffee! Meet in the Community Room from 9:30-10:30. Coffee and tea will be provided. Please feel free to bring baked goods to share. This is a great opportunity to meet returning parents, ask any questions you may have, and sign up for volunteer positions. Lakeshore depends on the support of volunteers to offer many of the great activities, so come find out how you can get involved.
