2020 Annual Giving Campaign Results are IN!

The Annual Giving Campaign team is proud and humbled to reveal the final tally of this year’s fall fundraiser. Including employer matching, you have pledged…

$93,323

Congratulations! 👏 In a year like this one, with all its uncertainty, there was no telling how it would have turned out. However, Lakeshore families, teachers, and friends came together to exceed our $85,000 goal and work towards securing another year of our enrichment programs, teacher and staff support, and community events. Even in a pandemic, with 25% less time than usual, you raised more than during our first year of this fundraiser. We’re thrilled with these results!

Please join us in congratulating the winning classrooms who will receive a face mask printed with Lakeshore’s logo.

Top student percent participation:

  • Ms. Kelsey at 47.1%
  • Ms. Barry at 50.0%
  • Ms. Smuda at 60.0%

Highest amounts raised in grade groups:

  • SDC: Mr. Curtis, $1,100
  • 4th and 5th grade: Ms. Doris Chan, $3,692
  • 3rd grade: Ms. Cristina, $5,000
  • 2nd grade: Ms. Smuda’s class raised $8,372 but had already placed for participation so the prize moves to Mr. Joseph‘s class with $7,525
  • 1st grade: Mrs. Wu, $4,912
  • Kinder: Ms. Jordan/Ms. Hilty, $6,625

Honorable mention to a few other classes who got over 50% participation: Ms. Angela, Ms. Streeter, Ms. Kelsey, Mrs. Barry, Mr. Gonzalez, Ms. Fernandez, Mrs. Palacio, and Ms. Alvina Chan. Extra thanks to Mr. Gonzalez’ fifth grade class who had 14 students participate. It can be a challenge to motivate upper grades to participate but this class had the third highest number of kids participating!

Shout out to a few other classes who did a terrific job of raising over $3,500: Ms. Jordan, Mrs. Palacio, Ms. Tyler, Ms. Streeter, Ms. Egan-Bell, Mrs. Wu, and Ms. Hopper.

Honorable mention to these additional classes with over 30% participation: Ms. Klein, Ms. Hopper, Mrs. Palacio, Ms. Bohórquez, Ms. A. Chan, Mrs. Fusscas/Ms. Gabe.

We’re so impressed that there were 11 students with four or more donors, showing that it’s not just about big numbers, but also about reaching out to your network. Special thanks to the family of Penelope S. who recruited 10 different donors to help Lakeshore, and to the students out there who are creating handmade gifts for your donors. We appreciate your creative thinking! All these individual contributions really add up.

Thank you to our fantastic volunteers who helped chart the direction of this year’s Annual Giving Campaign. The new kickoff video, letters, translations, online posts, weekly updates, Spirit Days, spirit gear, prizes, testimonials, matching challenge, and accounting were possible thanks to dedicated Lakeshore Leopard families working over the last seven weeks. Great job to all involved!

Thanks to our teachers and staff for being supportive during such a difficult time when the last thing they needed was another distraction. Your patience and assistance were greatly appreciated!

Finally, thank you again to everyone who donated, raised awareness, and participated in spirit days! Your generosity means so much and makes our school a better place.

With deep appreciation,
The Lakeshore Elementary PTA
