2019 Annual Giving Campaign Results Are In!

This year proved that we can maintain our momentum as an up-and-coming community powerhouse who wants to work smarter, not harder. We appreciate the creative thinking by so many people who found ways to involve friends, family, coworkers, and employers in the effort. Thank you to everyone who participated. Your generosity allows us to continue to provide a stellar enrichment program.

Including employer matching, you have pledged:

$113,958

It didn’t seem possible, but you came through at the last minute and crushed our goal of $100,000! What an exciting way to begin the year.

Because we reached our goal, we earned a school-wide Dance and Play Time celebration on Friday, October 25. Grades K-2 will celebrate from 1:40-2:25pm and grades 3-5 from 2:35-3:20pm. Families are welcome to attend! The Lowell Dance Company will join us toward the end of the first slot and beginning of the second slot. We’ll have music playing, Coach Reese and Coach Kyle will lead games, and Community Outreach Chair Cambria Gersten will have her P.E. classes from Lowell over to assist as well.

Now let’s get to the winning classrooms who each receive a pizza party.

Prizes are awarded to the 3 classes with highest participation:

  • Ms. Hopper and Mrs. Fusscas tied at 60.0%
  • Ms. Egan-Bell, 76.2%
  • Mrs. Wu, 90.5%

And also to the classes with the highest amounts raised in grade groups:

  • SDC: Ms. Klein, $2,256
  • 4th and 5th grade: Ms. Amanda, $3,520
  • 3rd grade: Ms. Cheung, $3,509
  • 2nd grade: Ms. Barry, $10,821.50
  • 1st grade: Ms. Kelsey, $18,280
  • Kinder: Ms. Angela, $11,655

Your specific classroom details will be posted on ParentSquare on 10/16.

Honorable mention to a few other classes who got over 50% participation: Ms. Angela, Ms. Streeter, Ms. Kelsey, Mrs. Barry, Mr. Gonzalez, Ms. Fernandez, Mrs. Palacio, and Ms. Alvina Chan. Extra thanks to Mr. Gonzalez’ fifth grade class who had 14 students participate. It can be a challenge to motivate upper grades to participate but this class had the third highest number of kids participating!

Shout out to a few other classes who did a terrific job of raising over $3,500: Ms. Jordan, Mrs. Palacio, Ms. Tyler, Ms. Streeter, Ms. Egan-Bell, Mrs. Wu, and Ms. Hopper.

Finally, hats off to the 12 students who got between five and eight donors and the Jarabek family who got 20 donors to help Lakeshore. If you have a fundraising story to share, please email pta@LakeshoreElementary.org so we can collect and inspire.

To learn more about our generous community, please check this Wednesday’s Paw Print Press and read our our thank you and wrap-up report. Thanks to each and every one of you who donated, pledged, helped, read, and supported the campaign throughout these four weeks. What a tremendous team effort! Great job to all!

With deep appreciation,
The Lakeshore Elementary PTA
