Members of the Lakeshore PTA,
On February 6, 2013, we will formally vote to adopt new bylaws for the Lakeshore PTA. Our current bylaws are incredibly out of date (written in 1990), and the state of California is now requiring those bylaws to be updated. The PTA Executive Board has spent the fall updating the bylaws, and has voted to approve a draft of them. The state has also approved the draft bylaws. The final step is approval by the general membership assembly. These new bylaws do not go into effect unless they have final approval by the general PTA membership.
There are a few differences in the new bylaws to bring them into the ‘10s, but the overall format is the same, as PTA bylaws documents are largely templated, based on regimented forms which the state supplies. You can find our few school-specific amendments on the final page of the bylaws.
The bylaws document is located here: Lakeshore_Elementary_PTA_Bylaws
A hard copy of the bylaws can also be found on the PTA bulletin board outside the main office. Please take the time to carefully review the bylaws and come to the February 6 meeting prepared to vote on whether to approve them. Thank you.
