School Site Council Election Results
Congratulations to Mr. Ben Palacco and Mr. Ken Alexander. They have been elected as our newest parent members of the School Site Council (SSC). Mrs. Anita Wu has been elected by teachers as the teacher representative and Mr. Michael Lee and Ms. Julia Egan Bell will serve as the UBC teacher representatives. Sadly, we say goodbye to our outgoing members, Mrs. Kathy Rose-Teacher, Mr. Michael McCauslin and Mrs. Danielle Camou who served as the UBC teacher representatives for the past year. Ms. Joycelin Craig, Mr. David Najman and Mr. Barry Draper served on the SSC for the past two years as parent representatives. Thank you for your service to Lakeshore and all of our
children! – Ms. Keener

Lunch Application Forms
Oct. 1st is the final date of turning in lunch applications (interested or not)! We’re hoping for 100% participation. Why? Lakeshore gets more monetary grants. Every classroom who has 100% participation will receive a popcorn party! – Ms. Keener

Walk to School Day is Wednesday, October 7th!
So, let’s work together to promote health, safety, physical activity and concern for our environment! – Ms. Keener

Save the date of October 16th for the Annual Multicultural PotLuck.
The event will begin at 6:30 and end at 8:00 p.m. and is held in the community room. Please start thinking about what dish you can bring to share, preferably a dish that captures the flavors of your family’s culture or cultures. We will need help with set up and clean up, so for those of you who can show up a bit early and help set up tables or for those of you who can stay to put tables away and clean up etc. – thank you ahead of time. Also, be sure to inspire our community with your cultural clothing! Any questions, please ask Susan Anderson

PTA Membership
Wow, we are already a month into our school year! Many of our children are coming home with exciting news about visits to the Library, Yoga, Gardening and so on. Our enrichment programs are going to be in full swing very shortly and the children will love it! These wonderful programs are only available to our children through the PTA. Please consider making a donation to the PTA so we can keep the tradition going. Remember that extended family members and friends can also donate to the PTA on your child’s behalf. It is tax deductible! Also, look into your company’s policy on Corporate Matching. Many corporations will match their employee’s donation.

PTA Pledge forms can be downloaded from our website. You can also make a donation directly through our website by going to the Participation tab and clicking on Fundraising. Here you can click on the Donate button to be directed our PayPal site which accepts most charge cards. All donations made by charge cards will be processed through our PayPal account.

Let’s pull our resources and work together to reach our goal! Thank you – Julie Lin, PTA Membership Chair
