Announcements – September 29

Harvest Festival
We are having a Rock Wall, huge Obstacle Course, face painting, cotton candy, games, and lots of arts & crafts booths at our Harvest Festival! Saturday, October 16th is the date to mark on your calendars! Plan on bringing the entire family. Tell your friends to come too!
Please sign up to help with your class booth. If you are interested in cleaning out your closets, we are collecting gently wore children’s clothing and books for our rummage sale. You can drop off your donation in the barrel located in the lobby of the school. If you are a great baker or if you just make awesome cookies, please donate your bake goods to our Bake Sale. Also, we would love some extra arts & craft supplies such as glitter, paint, googly eyes, gems and beads. A donation box will be placed in the lobby.
We are having a school wide Scarecrow Making Project. Each class will make a scarecrow using only recycled materials. These creative scarecrows will be displayed at the Harvest Festival. Look for more information on how to help with this and your class booth from the Room Parents!
We are looking for companies to sponsor our Harvest Festival. This sponsor- ship will help us cover the expense for the rock wall and obstacle course. If you know of a business that may be interested in be a sponsor please let me know at julie@acromaxnetworks.com. Advertising opportunities are available! Julie Lin

Harvest Festival – Rummage Sale!
Keep those gently used kids clothes and shoes coming Lakeshore! Books too if you have them. I’m sure they’ll get a second life when they’re sold at the Harvest Festival. If you have Halloween costumes that your kids will not be wearing anymore, bring them in! There will be a special section for them at the sale. Just put the items you want to donate in a bag and place them in the barrel at the school lobby. Thank you! -Esther Carmona

Scrip Fundraising
Raise money for the Lakeshore PTA without spending a single additional penny! Scrip means “substitute money” (aka gift certificates) from national and local retailers. They’re the same gift cards or gift certificates that you buy at the store.
How does scrip work? Participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our school at a discount. Families like yours buy (and redeem) the certificates for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as revenue.
The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. Scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline, and dining out. Scrip is also great for holiday shopping and birthday gifts.
A scrip order form and (shortened!) list of participating retailers will come home with your child. You may be surprised by how many participating retailers you use all the time (e.g., Lucky, Safeway, Arco, Shell, Starbucks, Peet’s, Amazon, Chevy’s, Old Navy, Walgreens, Borders…the list is incredibly long). A complete retailer list is available at www.glscrip.com.
Submit your order by 10/6, and you will receive your scrip by 10/20. If you have any questions, please contact Tess Napili.
