Thank You
a big Thank You to Mariah Bianchi, Julie Lin, and the other volunteers for a wonderful Staff Appreciation Luncheon! The pizza from Goat Hill Pizza was delicious, the salad was tasty, and the drinks were refreshing! It was a very nice treat and your efforts were sincerely appreciated.

Harvest Festival
Harvest Festival is on October 16th and that is only 6 weeks away! We are planning to have a great carnival like event with lots of fun booths and games available to everyone to enjoy. Here is a brief list of type of booths we may have: climbing rock wall, obstacle courses, cookie decorating, face painting/tattoo/hair coloring, button making, sand art, wand making, mask decorating and more. Also, we will have a rummage, bake and merchandise sale. These are just samples of what we have planned so far. Remember, each class is respon- sible for running a booth. So, start thinking about the type of booth your class would like to have (final decision will be made by the festi- val committee). Have a great idea? Email your ideas to Julie Lin (julie@ acromaxnetworks.com). Can’t come up with an booth idea. Don’t worry, we will several options available. This is a school wide event and every class will need to participate. IT WILL BE FUN! Look for more information in both the newsletters and flyers being sent home. – Julie Lin & Shannon Hunts

PTA Pledge
Don’t forget to submit your PTA pledge form. Extra forms can be found in the office. We are asking for 100% participation from our community. Extended families can also contribute to the PTA on your child’s behalf. So grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends can also make donations. The funds we raise will help Lakeshore to continue providing Art, Drama, Gardening, Motor Perception and so much more. Let’s keep Lakeshore’s enrichment programs alive for all of our children to enjoy!

lakeshoreelementary.org updates
Last year the Lakeshore website was redesigned to make it more useful and usable for the Lakeshore community. For the 2009-2010 year we added weekly Lakeshore news updates (Contents of the Paw Print Press newsletter are posted weekly), an online calendar of school events, and the capability of accepting credit card donations online (using PayPal).

Over the summer the following improvements have been added:

  • PTA Directory now has contact information online – just click the link to the password protected page and use the password listed in the newsletter (please do not share this password outside the Lakeshore community).
  • A revised map of the Lakeshore campus has been added (it now includes the recent improvements).
  • Access to google (machine) translations for all web pages. The quality of these translations will vary since they are generated on-the-fly by google’s translation software.

Information that has changed for the 2010-2011 school year has been updated or will be updated very soon. Some small changes have been made to the website’s organization and navigation. It should be easier now to find our “Donate” button and donation directions have been added. One of the donation screens now includes a field “Note/classroom/student name”. If you have any questions please contact Lisa Weinberg at lakeshorewebmaster@gmail.com
