ELAC Committee Election
Every California public school, grades K-12, with 21 or more English learners must form an English learner advisory committee (ELAC). The purpose of the ELAC is to advise the principal and school staff on programs and services for English learners and the School Site Council on the development of a plan to increase student achievement for our English learners. Lakeshore is holding elections for committee members of the ELAC. Please see the ballots that are sent home today with the Paw Print Press. Complete the ballots and return to school by Friday, November 6th. Your participation is appreciated! – Ms. Keener
SFUSD Enrollment Fair
The SFUSD Enrollment Fair is on Saturday, November 7th from 11-2. SFUSD creates a one-stop-shopping event for families who are looking to enroll their child. The Public School Enrollment Fair is where parents, caring adults, and students can meet principals to learn what each school can offer their child. Families can also attend workshops including: SFUSD’s enrollment system, how to enroll students in Special Education, the transition to Kindergarten, and language program options. This annual gathering is a chance for families to explore all their options for public schools. Last year approximately 10,000 families attended. – Ms. Keener
Lakeshore LGBTQ Community

We are looking for 3-4 individuals to sit at the Lakeshore table and speak to prospective families. Parents, teachers and support staff are all welcome to help. Lakeshore is a Solar School!
Thank You to all the dedicated PTA parents, teachers, consultants, and company crews who contributed to obtaining and installing the solar panel in Lakeshore’s garden area over the last 3 years. Congratulations on the completion of the project and to Lakeshore School for being an official Solar School! Great team work! – Lyn Bradshaw
Fall PTA Pledge Drive
We are having our Fall PTA Pledge Drive from now until December 1st! With this drive, we will have a Raffle where one lucky family/individual will win the new iPod Nano with video camera! All families who donate to the PTA will be eligible to win this prize. If you have already made a donation to our PTA fund your name will automatically be included in this raffle. Drawing will take place on Monday, December 7th during morning assembly!
If you have not already made a pledge to the PTA, please consider doing so. Our consultants and enrichment programs need your help to continue providing Poetry, Gardening, Motor Perception, Art, Gym, Yoga, Dance, and so much more. These programs benefit ALL of our children and we need every family to help keep them at Lakeshore. Your generous donation is tax deductible and will also include:
- PTA membership card
- Spirit dollar (based on amount donated) to be used towards Lakeshore merchandize
Many companies have Corporate Matching programs and will match your donation to the PTA. Please take a moment to research if this would be a possibility with your company. Extended family members and friends can also make a Pledge to the PTA. All donations are tax deductible for everyone who donates! – Julie Lin
