Absences
Please remember to call the school office at 759-2825 if your child is absent. When s/he returns, please provide a note indicating the date and reason for absence. Your note will be filed and used as documentation in the event of an attendance audit. Your cooperation is appreciated. 2010-2011 School Budget
San Francisco Unified School District is facing a $113 million dollar budget shortfall over the next two years. The preliminary budget will be shared with schools on or around February 20th. Superintendent Garcia has provided some general information for schools that was shared with the staff, the PTA and SSC members last week. Here is a link to Superintendent Garcia’s presentation. Literacy Night
Please join us on Wed. Feb. 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Community Room at Lakeshore as we have fun playing games focused on literacy (kindergarten through 5th grade). These are games that once you have learned them, you can play them at home with family and friends. You can visit the Book Fair during Literacy Night too! Come in costume (your favorite character from a book). There will be prizes for the best costume. If you would like to help, please contact Mary Hagen.

A Free Event for Youth Ages 5 – 18
Attend law school for a day, learn steps to succeed in high school and information about college and law school. Parents session available in Spanish. Door prizes and free school supplies (including pens, backpack, books, etc). Breakfast and lunch provided. Auction Wine and Food
Do you love wine, do you want to try new ones? Get on board with the Auction and Wine Tasting committee and get the first dibs on a selection of wines from the SF International Wine Competition. Cart the wines to school, organize the wine table, pour the wines, or sell the wines.
Do you love food, do you want to try some new recipes? Get on board with the Auction Committee and get the first dibs on what we select to serve for our hors d’ouevres. Slice and dice, purchase the food, serve the food, carve the roast, or just tell everyone else what to do in the kitchen.
