School Site Council Ballots
Please take a moment and complete the School Site Council (SSC) ballot that is included with the Paw Print Press and return to school by Friday, September 18th. We have 2 outgoing SSC members this year. We are voting in 2 incoming members to serve on the SSC during the 09-10 and 10-11 school years. For more information about the SSC, please call Ms. Keener at 759- 2825. – Ms. Keener

SFUSD Truancy Policy
The Lakeshore staff wants your child to be in school everyday (unless they are ill) so that their learning potential is maximized. Attendance is important because:

  • It helps ensure that they will move on to the next grade level
  • It improves academic success
  • It starts your child’s day off right when they are in school and arrive on time
  • Good attendance habits now = good habits later in the work world
  • Children are required by law to regularly attend school

If your child is home ill, notify the school office. When your child returns, please send a note indicating the reason for the absence. Be sure that your child gives it to the office or his/her teacher. – Ms. Keener

New Deadline!
Paw Print Press Newsletter Submissions: Submissions for the newsletter must be received by 9:00 p.m. Friday in order to appear in the next Wednesday’s newsletter. Please send to: lakeshorenews@yahoo.com

PTA Membership
We are slowly, but surely, heading towards our goal of $33,000! We are at $7,500 as of right now. Please consider making a donation to the PTA. It is tax deductible and goes directly to support the schools programs and events. We are facing a $10,000 deficit for next year and so your donation is even more crucial than ever! Consider looking into your company’s policy on Corporate Match-ing. Many corporations will match their employee’s donated amount. It may require you to fill out a form but this is an easy way for the PTA to raise more funds at no extra expense on your part.

PTA Pledge forms can be downloaded from our website. You can also make a donation directly through our website by going to lakeshoreelementary.org and going to the Participation tab and clicking on Fundraising. Here you can click on the Donate button to be directed our PayPal site which accepts most charge cards. All donations made by charge cards will be processed through our PayPal account.

Let’s pull our resources and work together to reach our goal!

Thank you – Julie Lin, PTA Membership Chair
