October is busy at Lakeshore and we want to take a moment to thank the terrific, dedicated volunteers for all their hard work.
On Tuesday, Oct. 13, Lakeshore was privileged to host the Co-op Preschools’ Kindergarten Preview Night. Representatives from across the city set up booths to promote their elementary schools. Lakeshore parents manned a booth while other volunteers prepared tacos and baked goods to keep folks well fed throughout the night, raising funds for our enrichment programs to boot.
Not three days later, volunteers again set the stage for our fourth annual Walk-a-thon, laying out the track where kids stretched their legs and crowded around for hand stamps, cups of water, and giggles at the bubble machine. Some parents manned the spirit gear booth and others bought and handed out popsicles as a tasty treat at the end.
Just yesterday, a handful of parents and teachers took time out of their weekends to represent our school at SFUSD’s Enrollment Fair at City College, promoting Lakeshore and fielding questions from parents embarking on their elementary school search. Many of these same parents also conduct our school tours on a purely volunteer basis.
And at the end of this coming week, volunteers are sure to make our Halloween Fest a success, transforming the Community Room into a cavern of creepy games and devilish fun.
Hats off to our family and staff volunteers! Thank you for all that you do!
