Located across the street from beautiful Lake Merced in San Francisco. Lakeshore Elementary is an ethnically and economically diverse urban school and is committed to providing children with a firm educational and social foundation.
Education through Experience
Lakeshore Elementary provides a wide variety of enrichment activities and a nurturing and joyful community, where teachers and parents work together to create a meaningful education and enhance academic achievements. Lakeshore students learn through doing – experiencing the science first hand, increasing their curiosity and retention of the concepts.
Creative expression through the arts is a central part of the Lakeshore experience. The arts curriculum is integrated with what children are learning in the classroom and enhance our students' educational experience.
Our students have a natural playground in which they can explore, write poetry, paint, and draw; as well as a wide variety of gardens that provide food, science curriculum opportunities, and a beautiful environment for the school.
Social Studies and Science
The area surrounding Lakeshore is well-suited for Native American, California social studies, and urban agriculture. Our proximity to Lake Merced provides a unique opportunity to study local entomology and ornithology.
